Founder of the brand, René Lacoste was a champion, world number one tennis player during the roaring twenties.  Nicknamed ‘the crocodile’ for his tenacity, fair play and sporting elegance, the crocodile symbol would go on to become an icon of the Lacoste brand.  The crocodile was first penned by designer Robert George in 1927 and René Lacoste, an early fan of customisation, had the symbol embroidered into his blazers and onto his polo shirts.  Lacoste was the first brand to display a visible logo onto an article of clothing.  Lacoste the brand launched in 1933, coinciding with the rising popularity of the polo shirt, not just in sport, but the world over.  On the back of this success, Lacoste kids launched in 1958.  Lacoste polo shirts for kids are a popular choice for both boys and girls alike, with all of the classic charm of the adult versions, downsized for your mini-me’s.  Lacoste kids is available from baby to age sixteen years.
